Lower Houghton Residents Association (“LHRA”) : Call for additional committee members and volunteers
The LHRA is a volunteer organization which provides a collective voice and key services to residents, home owners and business owners as stakeholders in the beautiful suburb of Lower Houghton. Some activities LHRA is involved in at present:
1) Representing the suburb in interaction with the City and Ward Councilor on municipal matters and holding city departments accountable
2) Planning and development of suburb in order to maintain and improve the value of your property, specifically given the densification and development of business nodes along main routes
3) Keeping the suburb looking neat so that all residents and visitors to Lower Houghton can travel safely through it and enjoy living here
4) Educating builders, the public and businesses in the suburb when by-laws are flouted and working together to problem-solve
The LHRA desperately needs additional committee members and volunteers to assist in building a new vision and bringing in fresh ideas. As residents we recognize that members are volunteers who are not paid to fulfill their roles but do what they can in between full-time jobs and other important commitments, which means the more hands on deck, the more any effort is shared around.

The LHRA Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 6th October at 6:30pm at the Houghton Golf Club , Osborn road entrance, where you can hear from the outgoing committee on the main project undertaken for the last 12 months.
